About Us
In the summer of 2023, a group of young researchers at Izmir Bahcesehir 50th Year Science and Technology High School created a collective to provide a community for enviromentalist people who are seeking for sustainable solutions for today's challenges. AquaVita Collective hopes to provide a solution to disaster zones where water resources are scarce and contaminated. The detrimental earthquakes and wildfires affecting our country, and the ongoing warfare affecting water accessibility motivated us to seek low-cost and accessible solutions.
Our Story
As senior classmates, Demir and Elif developed a community working towards creating a sustainable and affordable solution to water filtration; they asked Mehmet and Izem, their junior friends.
Wondering how to create a tangible impact, our motivation ignited from the countless disasters our community and all communities have gone through the past year: The wildfires, the Turkey-Syria earthquake and the recent Middle Eastern conflict devastating the region. As it is necessary for all people, we wanted to create an affordable way that will filter water from heavy metal pollution which is a common issue in communities that are affected by such disasters.
Demir brought his entrepreneurial leader mindset; Elif brought her computational skills and intellectual curiosity; Izem brought her extensive research ability in sciences and Mehmet brought his marketing expertise and laboratory experience. Working together in harmony, we combine our diverse experiences and learn from each other during the process.
