Our hydrogel’s ability to capture ions is given by waste rosehip and green tea. These are both locally supplied primary materials and have a high antioxidant capacity. Recycling these plants, the Turkish culture and its deep connection with tea generates a significant amount of waste, that became unusable after the brewing method makes our product sustainable.
Biodegradable
Componenets of our hydrogel were elaborately chosen for their eco-friendly and biodegradable properties. The waste hydrogel leaves no damage behind when it decomposes. This choice makes the hydrogel suitable for long-term applications in water treatment, aligning with environmental conservation efforts.
Accesible
Our innovation is convenient to use in areas with limited resources, including conflict and earthquake zones. Our product doesn’t require many space, energy, or technical competence which makes it a perfect option for socioeconomically disadvantaged regions. People without regard to age can clean their own water using our product.
